The Campanhã Intermodal Terminal (TIC) is a vital infrastructure for the city of Porto, designed by architect Nuno Brandão Costa and inaugurated in 2022. The project stands out for its harmonious integration of modern structural elements with the surrounding landscape in the City Park, addressing the morphological dispersion and urban degradation that characterized the city’s eastern zone.

The TIC represents a territorial gesture aimed at unifying fragmented areas, creating a new urban centre through the articulation of infrastructure with the surrounding urban fabric. Its linear programme is organised into a modular, compact, and sequential matrix, promoting smooth vehicular and pedestrian mobility while providing a new, open, and high-quality urban space.

The terminal is also recognised for its environmental sustainability and promotion of urban mobility, earning the 2021 architecture prize from the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), reflecting the solving of a long-standing urban problem dating back to the 19th century.
